Our first sight of the county of Troms was at dawn as we entered the port of Halstad …

… I just love the blues you get at dawn and dusk in these northern latitudes. Then it was on to Finnsnes (another bridge in the background) …

… and the chance to take a close-up shot of a red fisherman’s lodge …

Then it was more deep blue sea and lovely skies as we travelled on towards Tromsø …

Tromsø was to be where we went dog-sledding at dusk (about 4:00pm) …

… and saw the lights of the city as we finished our adventure …

The snow was quite deep in Tromsø and you had to marvel at the tunnels they’d built to allow easy movement around the city. You were left with the question … why, with in a country with a population of only 5 million or so, were they able to do so much civil engineering and infrastructure work. Back to the boat and on to Finnmark, but on our return to this county …

… and as part of the coach trip, we were taken to Trondenes – a medieval reconstructed house, complete with drying fish outside …

… and some lovely moody images as the snow fell …

14 Apr 2020Wonderfully atmospheric landscapes. Quite an unusual pallet of colours and contrasts – must be the winter sun. A good advert – makes me want to visit. Hope you’re all good.

15 Apr 2020Thanks Joe. Yes, so far, so good. Hope it’s the same for you too. The colours were strange on those days – early morning and then snowy, misty almost. They haven’t been subjected to much Lightroom “magic” at all!
