
The previous post presented the landscape of Parc Cefn Onn in autumn, these four shots focus on the leaf litter. The closing comment in that post pondered whether I shouldn’t have just used a faster 35mm prime lens, these shots using the same 24-105mm F4.0 lens justify the decision I made. Of course I could have packed my camera bag, but I wanted to travel light.
I didn’t see the two flies when I took this shot originally. It was only when I cropped the image from this …

… that I saw them for the first time. I caught the colours in the shot below just in time. The reds were beginning to lose their radiance …


… and where there wasn’t red you could enjoy the yellows and browns.

Finally I wanted to get this shot, I took several versions of it, but it was only when I got it into Lightroom that I realised that a letterbox format would work best.
