Returning from Ireland we stopped for a week on Anglesey – we’d never been there which is so surprising given the number of times we’ve been in Caernarfon or Bangor. Anyway, take it from me – it’s beautiful … especially when the sun shines, which it did for the whole time we were there. The real beauty of the island is that it gives you a complete set of different viewpoints of the Carneddau and Snowdon mountain ranges. It’s just spectacularly beautiful. The sea and coastal scenery, lovely beaches, are never far away; and overlooking it all are the mountains of North Wales – a backdrop to everything else. I’m not so keen on wild campers, there must have been at least 30 camper vans that had paid the toll fee to get to Penmon Lighthouse, but I could understand why they were there!
