Kirkstall Abbey on Christmas Eve

Kirkstall Abbey on Christmas Eve

We spent a lovely Christmas in Leeds this year with our daughter’s family and we got out in the lovely pre-Christmas sun to walk around Kirkstall Abbey. It’s an amazingly photogenic location and these four shots taken with my iPhone try to give an impression of just how imposing the building is and how beautiful it is in colour, or black and white.

… and that’s it for 2018. A new year and a new camera. I’ve spoilt myself and bought an upgrade to my Sony A7r which is the A7r Mk III. I’ve not taken any serious shots yet but what I have taken is amazing in terms of the sharpness of the images. Happy days ahead!

You keep coming up with shots of some of my favourite places David! Kirkstall Abbey was a frequent day trip destination for my family when I was growing up in W Yorkshire. Very nice pics too.

  2. Glad to hear I’m bringing a bit of happiness to you! My daughter and family live across the big field that fronts the A65. The Abbey House Museum (and cafe) is a frequent stopping-off place on our walks down to the river and the Abbey. Pleased you like the pics. Wasn’t the sky blue!!!
