Caban-coch Dam, Elan Valley

Mid-Wales from Llanwrtyd Wells

I’d forgotten to post these shots from a trip I made to mid-Wales earlier this year. I used Llanwrtyd Wells as my base and stayed in a very nice B&B in the centre of the town. Needless to say, my luck being the way it is, and it being mid-Wales, it was a bit dull, grey, gloomy and wet! That was certainly the case on the day I drove across to Tregaron and then back through Cwm Ystwyth to the Elan Valley where the spray coming over the top of Caban-coch was a sight to see. The image is a credit to the iPhone 6s as well which is what I used to take the shot – not wanting to get the wet weather protection out for the Sony!

So, in the gallery above you can see shots of Abergwesyn, the “communications” hub near Nantymaen – a well-photographed spot, the spillway at Llyn Brianne, a visit to Gwenffrwd-dinas where the sheep were looking suitably miserable and the wetness of the ground was very clear and some shots of the water coming over Craig Goch and Penygarreg dams as well.

There are some more shots from Day One, Day Two and Day Three on flickr.
