An early start to the day, loads of images taken with the new Camera – the Sony A7r – quite pleased with the results; loads of post-processing to be done yet however. This was an easy one to process and choose to show here.

We managed a short break at Padstow and this was one of the first pictures taken with the new Sony A7r. Still got a lot of work to do to learn its capabilities, but the lens adaptor means that all my old A700 Lenses will work on it. Should be interesting.
Quite spectacular watching these huge boats hurtling round Cardiff Bay.

Always good fun to have the grandchildren with us. This was taken during a trip to the RSPB Newport Wetlands Reserve.
A trip to Caerphilly Castle (near Cardiff). The tilt on this tower, caused when the gunpowder used to blow the castle up in Cromwell’s time didn’t quite do the job, is reasonably impressive!
Another picture taken during a Wales Coastal Path walk – this one on the sands at Porthcawl where surf life-saving training was going on.
Walking along the Wales Coastal Path – this is one of my favourite stretches the cliff between Llantwit Major and Ogmore. The lighthouse at Nash Point is a much-visited local landmark.
I’d thought this stretch of the Wales Coastal Path might have been a “bit boring” with not much variety in landscape – nothing could have been further from the truth. It may be flat but the wild flowers, the birds, the butterflies and moths and the fascinating salt marsh make this a quite captivating area.
