A set of three images, chosen from a Cardiff U3A Photography Group shoot – the last one before Covid-19 lockdown. The theme was “Panoramas”, the location Cardiff Bay.

Knowing the location you’re going to gives you the opportunity to do a bit of research on Google Maps to work out exactly the shots you want to take. I knew I wanted to get a shot of this splendid row of houses – one of which Roald Dahl lived in, I believe. I also thought the Celtic Ring would make a good shot. The trick was finding the right place to take them from.

The last shot was the obvious one, but the trick again was to walk around an visualise just how you were going to capture the shot(s).

All the panos are composites, stitched together in Lightroom. A set of images I’m rather pleased with.
