Bryce Canyon

Continuing the series of old pre-digital images whose negatives I’ve scanned, the next few posts are from a “road trip” we did from San Francisco through Yosemite, Death Valley, Zion and through to Los Angeles. They’re not going to be in any particular order – just how I feel.

Anyway, here are a couple of images taken during an overnight stay at Easter at Bryce Canyon. We arrived and it had started to snow. Within a couple of hours there was at least a foot of snow on the ground and we had thoughts of being cut-off and our well-planned trip being aborted. We need not have worried. They’re used to snow here and unlike the UK, the roads were completely clear by the next morning. However we didn’t leave without taking a few shots of the most amazing sandstone eroded landscape (hoodoos), accentuated by the snow. Very little post-processing applied, just a bit of clarity and sharpening.
