Iceland – Day 3

An early start saw us at Dyrhólaey, looking across Reynisfjara Beach towards Reynisdranger as the sun came up. The sea was wild, the wind was strong, and the rain was never far away.

Returning to Vik, we went back to the hill above the church and I took these two shots of the graveyard.

We then set off for points further east. The shot below was taken on the road to Hali – Lómagnúpur.

Before we settled for the night at Hali, we stopped off at the Ice Beach, to try and get the measure of taking photos of the receding waves, as they left a trail around the blocks of ice on the black basaltic sand of the beach.
