We lost a day, which given the state of my back was not really a loss to me, as it poured with rain for nearly a whole night and most of the next day. We stayed in the Skyrhusid Centre near Hali and did some Lightroom work on the images we’d already taken. The next day we woke to find the snow cover had almost completely disappeared and set off to visit the frozen glacial lagoon at Fjallsárlón …
… then it was on to the waterfall at Stjórnarfoss …
… whilst travelling across the flat plains that skirt the Eyjafjallajökull icefield …
… ending the day back at Reynifsjara Beach, to see the stormy seas as the sun set …
