In June this year, Jenny, my sister Jane, and I embarked on a narrowboat cruise along the Brecon and Monmouth Canal. We discovered that we should probably not do such a holiday again unless we have at least one of our children with us! We felt we needed a holiday at the end to recover – and there were only 8 locks!! Still we had a good time, we didn’t get as far as I thought we might but we did manage to get to the canal basin in Brecon and by catching a bus from near Llangynidr we managed to get to Abergavenny and have an excellent afternoon tea at The Angel hotel, as well as walking down to Crickhowell (and catching a bus back to Llangattock).
