The last day of the workshop and an early start to view sunrise and the Milky Way near Bungle Bumgle, and then on to Cathedral Gorge. Definitely a site for song!

I couldn’t resist giving this little fellow a post of his own. We saw him on Day 5 at the end of Echina Gorge, a very narrow chasm which we walked until we got to the closed end. He was remarkably tame and not worried about the people who were walking past him (or her).

A selection from the c.100 images I took from the front seat of the doors-off four-seater helicopter trip over the Wyndham mudflats at the mouth of the Ord River. The rest of the day we travelled from El Questro to Bungle Bungles …

What a fantastic location Zebedee Springs in El Questro is! These two shots were taken with my 90mm Macro lens. The one of the spider sitting on the stem at water level at 1/250th and f2.8 with ISO 160 as I didn’t want any depth of field at all. The one below of the wonderful

A wonderfully cloudless sky and the sun setting over Cowes on Phillip Island. I’ve setup the tripod on the beach at Silverleaves and managed to get a few images that I was reasonably happy with. Here they are – a few more shots I took that evening of a really lovely sky and the sea

You’ll have to forgive me here. I don’t get the chance to experiment with creating silky seascapes very often and it needs a slightly different technique than silky waterfalls, so when offered the possibility of “playing” when we were on Phillip Island near The Nobbies, I grabbed the chance whilst Jenny patiently waited in the car.

At last after five trips to Australia (seven for Jenny), we’ve finally seen a koala. We had to go to a Conservation Centre on Phillip Island mind you, so it was not totally wild I’m afraid. However, these rather shy, and threatened species are difficult to spot in the wild, so we were glad to
